The CADAP Committee meets regularly to plan opportunities for our members to meet, connect and support on a professional level, while maintaining a degree of social activity! Our theme for the year is Empowering Learning, Growing Leaders – and I think we’ve all done some ‘growing’ during the 49 days of ‘Lockdown Levels 4 and 3’.

Pre COVID19, once a term we hold a Friday afternoon seminar, beginning with a light lunch. Each seminar has a guest speaker, a panel discussion and our own version of ‘speed PLD’ – sharing ‘5 in 5’ – 5 slides in 5 minutes of something that works in your kura. As well as this we try to run ‘network groups’ or cluster meetings on a less formal, less regular basis. Where APs and DPs from similar locations can meet to discuss whatever ‘sits on top’ for them.

Our biannual Hanmer Conference is a little up in the air at the moment, with the closing of our regular venue in Hanmer, The Heritage. Currently we are exploring possibilities of what an ‘un-conference’ or ‘online conference’ of ‘pared back’ conference might look like.
