Lisa White

Current Position:  Deputy Principal, Whangaparaoa College and President of NASDAP

30+ years’ experience in education:  Three years’ experience as Leader of the Whangaparāoa Peninsula Kāhui Ako; 16 years’ experience in Senior Leadership; 8 years’ experience in Middle Management; 8 years’ experience as a full time Classroom Teacher.

I am passionate about improving teaching and learning – striving towards better engagement for both teachers and learners and achieving ako.  My current responsibilities include oversight of Year 7-10 Learner Success, Special Projects and School Character integrated into the Curriculum, Community Engagement and Alumni, EOTC, and Learner Support including Special Needs.  I previously taught at Orewa College, Massey High School and Ashburton College prior to joining Whangaparaoa College.  Over the years, I have taught a variety of subjects, but usually Computing and Business Studies.  I also have previous experience as a Tertiary Tutor, Marketing Consultant and Mortgage Broker.

As President of NASDAP, my intention is to gain a deeper understanding of current issues facing APs and DPs and work on your behalf to accentuate what is already awesome and to minimise the barriers to great leadership to enable even better teaching and learning.  We all love our jobs – let’s work together to make it even more enjoyable and to make more of a difference!
