Stella BondI have been in education for 30 years and this is my 13th year as Deputy Principal at New Plymouth Girls’ High School. I have chaired the Taranaki AP/DP Association since 2008 and have headed up the organizing committees for our regional conferences in 2008 and 2012.
I have been on the NASDAP executive since 2010 representing the Taranaki, Wanganui and Manawatu Region. Since 2013 I have represented NASDAP on SQAG (Secondary Qualifications Advisory Group). SQAG is a cross sector group with representatives from NZQA, MOE, PPTA, NZSTA, Te Kura, SPC, SPANZ, NZAPEP, Universities NZ & Te Akatea. There are a number of important issues discussed at the meetings and although Richard Thornton, Deputy Chief Executive, NZQA chairs the meetings, there is also significant input from the MOE. NASDAP are very fortunate to be part of the group and it is great to be able to feed key summary points back to our NASDAP regions.
